Is TVI a legitimate company?

I read with great interest the hub by matthewneer regarding TVI Express, and was especially interested in all the comments posted. TVI seems to have opened a can of worms. So is it legit or not?

I joined TVI the end of October. At this point, I am poised to exit off the Traveller board probably sometime this week. With so much negative stuff circulating, I thought it best to post my thoughts.

According to Wikipedia a pyramid scheme is defined as, "a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, often without any product or service being delivered."

Does TVI Express have a legitimate product?

So, the first question should be: Does TVI have a legitimate product? And the answer is "Yes". Discount travel is something that everyone wants and needs, especially in today's economic times. Discount travel is a thriving business. Baby-boomers are driving the travel market, and they all want to travel. I'm in that catagory, and I know that I want to be able to travel now that I'm not tied to a 9-5 job. With membership in TVI Express at over 200,000 don't you think some of them are spending money on trips and vacations? ~ All being booked through their back office?

Where does the money come from?

Second question: Does most of the money come from enrolling people into the program? And the answer is "NO." TVI Express has strategically aligned itself with some of the biggest names in the Travel and Hospitality Industry to create a platform that has created an entirely new Multi-Billion Dollar product category. They have partnered with such giants as Hilton, Hertz, KLM, Avis, Sheraton, Crystal Cruises, Disney Cruises, LeMeridien, Carnival, British Airways, Swiss International Airlines, Royal Caribbean, Malaysia Airlines, South African Air Lines, Thai, Hyatt, Marriott, Lufthensa Airways, and soon to join forces with RCI, the world's largest time-share company. With travel worldwide as an $8 Trillion (with a T) Dollar Industry, TVI's goal is to capture a small part of the business. Being a part of that for $250 is mere pennies compared to the money brought in through travel.

For a perspective of how big the travel industry really is take a look at this video:  gumballpresentation.com put together by WorldVentures, another travel company. It's about 15 minutes long, but after it loads, skip past the hype part in the beginning and go to where he is showing jars of gumballs. He compares Star Bucks, the Nutrition Industry as a whole, and the Travel Industry. It will really enlighten you as to how HUGE the travel industry really is ~ and the amount of insane money that can be made in the travel market. If TVI Express can capture even a less than 1% of 8 Trillion ~ That's a lot of $$. Plus, when the video was made, the industry was at $7 Trillion. It has increased since then, and is expected to double within the next 10 years.

Are only those at the top making money?

And the last question is: Who is making all the money in TVI Express? And the answer to that questions is: "You and I." Over 70% of the revenue generated through TVI is given back to distributors. Everyone has the opportunity to cycle and earn money, not just those at the top. This is truly a win-win for everyone.

If you look at any network marketing/ MLM company there are distributors who make it big, and those who wish they could make it big, but have done nothing to make it so. Cost to get going is usually in the $300-400 range, plus you usually have to pay a monthly fee for product, or to remain active. This adds up to more than a one-time $250 fee, with no other costs ever.

Money giants like Warren Buffet, Sir Richard Branson, Donald Trump, and Robert Kiyosaki have all started network/MLM companies. And they all say, it's the wave of the future ~ and the best thing they have ever done.

Is it worth a $250 Investment?

If you do some research on TVI Express, you will not find a negative comment posted by someone who is in TVI Express. It is only those who have a negative attitude to begin with, and think all network/MLM companies are pyramid schemes. They will only be happy with a 9-5 job. There is no entrepreneural spirit in them.  Those who are working the program are cycling, getting paid without any problems, and enjoying life.  It just happens to be one of the easiest programs out there where anyone wanting more out of life is able to get it.

All new start-up companies have growing pains their first year or two in the business.  TVI Express is no different.  There are a few kinks that need to be worked out, but pay out of money is not one of them.

As for me, I'm willing to take a chance on $250. The worst case senario is that I'll only cycle off the Traveller board, make $500, and get to take a vacation worth at least $1,000.00. Do I think that is a good investment for $250? And the answer to that questions is: "YES", because I know that TVI Express is so much more than that.

Linda, mind if I share your own comments on TVI Express, as you posted on my blog?

Nice comments, and so very true. I got caught up in the hype of TVI Express myself. Since that time TVI has been unable to provide their vacation pkgs as promised, vouchers are difficult to deal with, they are not USA compliant, their office is just a virual office, no founder/CEO (no one is claiming this baby), and I'm stuck on boards that are not moving because of splitting, and losing all your team members. If you're thinking about joining this company - think again. Do your due-diligence. There are way too many red flags for this to be legit.
